Taveling South - Floride and Tennessee

So I've been a bit MIA for a bit now (I know, more broken promises - more shame on my part!), but with good reason! I was traveling to Florida and Tennessee two weeks ago, and...I got a job! Which means less free time to enjoy myself and do whatever and take pictures, and add to IWTH. Anyway, here are a few shots of the trip!

Don't know why, but I seem to have lost all of my beach pictures (which weren't that many, honestly). I also realized - too late in the game - that for $20 you can buy a waterproof camera, which would have been really awesome for taking pictures in the ocean. Figures I would forget!

I'll try my best to come up with adventures to share! But work (i.e. cubicle) life just isn't that exciting (but the money it brings is!!).

Noisli - Creating the Mood

Been really busy with university. From studying for exams, to completely an endless amount of projects - and not to mention the club activities I'm involved with - my time hasn't quite been my own. Which obviously means there will be a lack of posts on IWTH. However, on this late Wednesday afternoon, enjoy a new find of mine: Noisli. Ambient background sounds to create specific moods. Today it's been raining here, so I'm enjoying the rain and thunder sounds. Enjoy!

You can also combine different sounds to create the perfect atmosphere!

Suicide Forest

I came across this documentary - surprisingly - while scrolling through Tumblr. Someone had made a little gif of it and I couldn't help find the quotation really interesting, so I followed the link to the full documentary.

That's What She Said

Talking about body image. Interesting video on how women perceive themselves, and since I definitely have several self-esteem problems growing up - middle school and high school - I can certainly relate. Perhaps the most important thing is to realize the importance of your own existence, and the moment you begin to strive for something and you get out of your head, I think you can really come to terms with who you are. There are parts of us we cannot change, and others that we can. If you are unhappy with your weight, exercise, eat healthy, eat more, whatever. But realize that all you can strive for is being healthy body and mind. Everything else will follow.

Graduate School or Not?

Choosing between going to graduate school or not is a rather important decision for a lot of students. There is no one specific answer for everyone, but I suppose there are considerations we must all take into account.

I had intended on going to graduate school straight after completing my bachelor degree since I was in high school. I had always assumed that was the right choice for me. My parents both went, and I had grown up thinking that was the best way to go. However, toward the beginning of last semester, I began to think otherwise. I was done being a student, and was ready to go on with my life. The considerations that go into making such a decision were not taken lightly, and as an engineering student, I really had to think about whether I would be capable of getting a job with a B.S. And there was, in fact, even the question of whether engineering was what I wanted to go into. Though I have spent four years in college, I am admittedly still unsure of what I want to do with my degree, let alone my life. So here are some of the reasons - my own, personal ones - as to why I chose not to go to graduate school:

Poems I Found--Part 2

(2)
Time is an illusive adversary.
It creeps and sneaks while you cannot see.
And when it decides it is finally necessary,
it attacks you with endless glee.

It takes what you thought could not be taken,
what you thought to be your pride and joy.
And when it's done with you, you'll feel forsaken
for the whole of you it loved to destroy.

The moments you thought would last forever,
and the memories you gained through the years.
Those ties with the past, time will sever
and leave you on your knees in tears.

But those knees will soon start hurting
and all the bones in your body will crack.
At this point you cling to that yearning
for a youth you will never get back.

So now you can think that time has beat you.
You can think it's completely won.
But then, if you believe that that is true,
the entirety of you is gone.

Time may take away your beauty,
and the strength you had when young.
But it cannot take away your duty,
to the person you were all along.
